4 of March EDUCRO project organized info-seminar at Galleria Pihatto for the culture, creative and tourism organizations in South Karelia. The project partners from LAB University of Applied Sciences and Humak University of Applied Sciences presented their team of experts, announced the opportunities of cooperation in creating new projects on the cross-border level and the upcoming programme of events, seminars and training.
In the open discussion, the participants presented their organizations and explained why they are interested in the project. Most of the participants said they were interested in making new contacts and partnerships across border, and in getting new skills from the educational programme.
Among the participants were the representatives from the cultural department of the Regional Council of South Karelia and The Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment. Anu Talka announced that the new two-part history book of South-Karelia region (Rajamaa and Rajamaakunta) offered lots of interesting material for creative and tourism businesses, and she wanted to encourage everyone to use this material in their product development. The on-going project where eastern regions are together backing up the application of Savonlinna for the European Cultural Capital 2026 is another platform that should be used in creative and tourism product development. Juha Linden and Ritva Kaikkonen discussed the funding opportunities for the cultural and creative projects.
During the interactive brainstorming session, the current & future challenges in the culture industry, and ideas on future development and cooperation on the projects were discussed. EDUCRO project team thanks everyone who participated in the event and is looking forward to our next meeting!
